Raggs Requiem from 07 Ghost is one of the very first songs I learned. It was a while ago so I don’t have any footage of my progress learning it. Still, since it’s one of the songs I know so far, I thought it would be a good way to start sharing my progress.
This one was originally a request from my sister. At the time, she’d just started watching 07 Ghost and was quite taken with the song. Compared to some of the other songs she’s suggested, it’s relatively easy… Sort of.
I have enough of a basic understanding of music theory that the few dotted notes scattered throughout aren’t too difficult. My issues came with the timing between both hands. While it’s simple enough, it’s a challenge to keep the left hand at a steady tempo. All while switching from dotted half notes to 8th notes and the odd dotted 8th note with the right hand.
With a little persistence (and listening to the song a few hundred times), I think I nailed it.
